Theatre News: Kit Returns to Stage Roots

Kit Harington is best known for playing the smouldering Jon Snow in the HBO hit Game of Thrones. Yet since the season 5 final we’ve all been left wondering whether death is enough to keep the curly haired beauty away.

Regardless the pain is slightly eased by the news that Kit will be returning to the London stage with a new role in Christopher Marlowe’s famous 16th Century tragedy, Doctor Faustus. The play directed by Jamie Lloyd opens at the Duke of York’s Theatre in April.

The story tells of a man who sells his soul to the devil in return for magical powers. I have both seen and read the play previous, so I’m excited to see what Lloyd has in store for us. Especially as he’s included two new acts by Colin Teevan which will explore our celebrity-obsessed society. Rather fitting as Kit himself has become obsession of many – including myself.

I’ve got my tickets booked for April. Review to follow.
